Embedded Product Manager (Santa Clara, CA)

Job description:

Join the product management team at Green Hills Software, where you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of embedded software tools that are used by leading technology companies worldwide. We are seeking a well-rounded and highly motivated Product Manager to work on one of our major product groups. In this role, you will:

  • Work closely with customers and sales teams to gain deep insights into how customers use GHS products and the challenges they face
  • Consult with internal engineering teams about customer challenges and scope efforts required to resolve those challenges
  • Use GHS products to understand customer experience firsthand
  • Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify market trends and opportunities
  • Develop and communicate the product vision, strategy, and roadmap
  • Define and prioritize product requirements, created detailed specifications, and manage the feature backlog
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure timely and high-quality delivery of product features and enhancements
  • Lead regular reviews with internal and external stakeholders, including sales, marketing, support, and other product managers
  • Plan and execute product launches - develop go-to-market strategies, marketing materials, and training for sales and support teams
  • Define and monitor key metrics in product performance
  • Drive the partnership ecosystem strategy
  • Champion the voice of the customer throughout the product lifecycle to ensure our solutions meet their needs

Skills and Experience:

  • Experience developing embedded software using C/C++
  • At least 5 years’ experience in the tech industry
    • With prior exposure to product management activities
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Strong project management skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively across different teams and levels of the organization
  • Ability to lead and influence without direct authority
  • A self-starter with the ability to get things done
  • Technical expertise in one of our major product areas:
    • Real-time operating systems
    • Hypervisors
    • Compilers
    • IDEs and Debuggers
    • Hardware Debug Probes
  • Familiarity with other embedded software tools or adjacent technologies is a plus

Requirements:

  • Up to 25% domestic and international travel to meet with product development teams, customers, partners, sales teams, and attend conferences
