Green Hills Software Announces NextHop IP Routing and MPLS Solutions Support for the INTEGRITY RTOS
DALLAS, TX—April 27, 2004 - Green Hills Software, Inc., the market leader in royalty-free real-time operating systems (RTOS), today announced the availability of NextHop Technologies' GateD advanced layer 3 IP routing and MPLS software for Green Hills Software's INTEGRITY RTOS.
The integration of the INTEGRITY RTOS with GateD IP routing and MPLS allows OEM and ODM vendors to bring cost-effective, reliable core, edge, enterprise and SOHO (small and home office) devices to market, faster while supporting a complete set of advanced routing, MPLS and IPv4/IPv6 functionality.
The GateD suite of routing and MPLS software is a complete control-plane solution, with all requisite protocols packaged conveniently for inclusion in a variety of networking devices. Available GateD protocols include RIP, OSPF, BGP, IS-IS, DVMRP, IGMP, PIM-SM, PIM-SSM, PIM-DM, MSDP, MP-BGP for IPv6, IS-IS for IPv6, OSPFv3, MPLS, VRE (Virtual Routing Environment) and VPN (layer 3 MPLS-BGP virtual private networking) support. Equipment manufacturers can pick and choose from these individual components or license a variety of packages targeted at specific applications.
The INTEGRITY RTOS enhances reliability and real-time determinism by never disabling interrupts during any system call, while providing applications guaranteed access to the CPU and memory for critical tasks. The INTEGRITY RTOS prevents errant or malicious code from corrupting user and kernel objects, proving protection from denial of service attacks.
The INTEGRITY RTOS solution for networking applications includes:
- Royalty-free licensing, eliminating per-unit cost
- Kernel, networking protocols and board support package source code availability gives developers more control and visibility into software application optimization
- True real-time performance with fast, deterministic interrupt response and rapid context switching
- Message-passing architecture for reliable and high performance inter-processor and inter-task communication
- Guaranteed memory and CPU availability for total reliability
- Utilization of the processor’s memory protection unit (MMU) for full memory protection of user data, the kernel, device drivers and user tasks
- Integration with Green Hills Software's MULTI Integrated Development Environment, optimizing compilers and Green Hills Software’s JTAG hardware debug probes in an easy-to-use, single source solution
- In-field monitoring and download for non-intrusive debugging and upgrades
- Complete integrated networking solutions for dual IPv4/v6, IPSec, SSL, SSH, Secure Web, Firewall and more.
