Hills Software, Inc. (GHS), the market leader in embedded software
development tools and royalty-free real-time operating systems (RTOS),
today announced the availability of its INTEGRITY RTOS for the first
three members of the Analog Devices Blackfin® Processor family,
the ADSP-BF531, ADSP-BF532, and ADSP-BF533. This combination allows
developers to take advantage of a high reliability, high security,
memory-protected RTOS optimized for a high-performance, low-cost, low-power
processor. “By integrating the INTEGRITY RTOS with Blackfin Processors, available at prices as low as $5 and incorporating both DSP and control processing capabilities, Green Hills Software and Analog Devices are enabling the development of sophisticated, reliable, low-cost devices,” said Dan O’Dowd, founder and CEO of Green Hills Software. “The scalability and low cost of the Blackfin Processor family are a natural match to the scalability and royalty-free licensing of our INTEGRITY and velOSity RTOS solutions.” “The INTEGRITY RTOS allows developers to take full advantage of the power of the Blackfin architecture,” explained John Croteau, General Manager, Media Platforms and Services Group, Analog Devices. “By leveraging the Blackfin memory protection capability, the INTEGRITY RTOS enables development of the most reliable and secure applications. The INTEGRITY RTOS is securely partitioned, guaranteeing each task the resources it needs to run correctly along with fully protecting the operating system and user tasks from errant and malicious code, including denial of service attacks, hackers, worms and Trojan horses. The INTEGRITY RTOS is built on Green Hills Software’s small and fast velOSity microkernel. Both products share a rich set of device drivers, Board Support Packages and middleware, including, as an example, IPv4, IPv6, IPsec, SSL, SSH, Web server, CORBA and graphics. The ability to migrate seamlessly between the velOSity microkernel and the INTEGRITY RTOS provides embedded software developers with unprecedented scalability.
